I've always been impressed with the lovely looking moves in Taekwondo and they do have power behind them but after sparring with Taekwondo guys i came to realise that they need time to actually load up with the power so you just need to close the distance on them and then all their fancy spin kicks mean nothing, also they don't actually do any real live sparring which is also lacking in a lot of martial arts training, that is why boxers and Thai boxers are the most dangerous strikers and will beat them 9 times out of 10. I was a Jiu jitsu based MMA guy with average stand up but i would not sweat even quite high level Taekwondo guys in a stand up match
